Ephemeral Ground
Zabludowicz Collection
Group show "A minute ago"
London
2018

Ephemeral ground was part of 'A minute ago' group exhibition at the

Zabludowicz collection gallery in Chalk Farm - London.

Ephemeral ground is a performance installation and a shifting space.

During 8 weeks the space got transformed 7 times by a total of 8 performers and 5 Sound Artists.

Installation consisted of: Sand and Mirrors.

The project Ephemeral ground investigates the two words that the Ancient Greeks had for time. "Kairos" and "Chronos".

Chronos refers to chronological or sequential time. Kairos signifies a proper or opportune time for action. In this sense, while Chronos is quantitative, Kairos has a qualitative, permanent nature.

The artist uses the human intervention within the same space each week, the symbolic materials of sand and mirrors to reflect on the permanence and static transformation of her country's dichotomous situation - Cyprus.
